I am from compassion!

 My family lost hope when my father died. My
mother’s frequent prayer was that God provides her children with something to
eat. Life was so hard on us and my mom could not think beyond provision of
bread for that was already impossible at the time. We were grateful at the time
that my brother and I got the chance to be registered in a project. That was
how God answered my mother’s prayer. But God had other plans for our life and
today, I am a University graduate. My mother cannot comprehend this truth to
date. She keeps crying every time we reflect back on how far the lord led us
and how much he provided for us.

Compassion is God’s Instrument in
reaching out to the poor. Today when I look at some friends of mine in the
neighbor hood who joined school with me in grade one, I marvel at what the lord
did for me through compassion. They had to stop going to school for their
family was not able to support them. Some are married at young age, some are
merchants selling little staff here and there in struggle to win their daily
bread, and a good number are on the streets with no good life style. Besides
meeting my physical needs, God changed my heart and taught me to fear him in my
ways. I am a changed person because of my faith in Christ. I began serving God
in a choir when I was in grade 4 and I am still committed to serving him.  

Joining LDP helped me to start
thinking about purpose for living. I am now mature enough and in pursuit of the
purpose I am made for. No one can believe that I am actually from a poor family
for the support I got from LDP was so immense and transforming.

My dream is using my profession
for the glory of God and helping the poor with it.

I am thankful to compassion for
all the success I had came through their support.
