History of Leadership Development Program
Background of the Program
This verse in Isaiah 61:3-4 captures the mission of Compassion International’s Leadership Development Program:

“…They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.
They will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.”

Compassion International’s Leadership Development Program, established in 1996 in the Philippines, and has been providing God’s children an opportunity to accomplish their dreams. The Leadership Development Program identifies gifted young men and women from Compassion’s top students. It gives them the opportunity to continue their studies by attending a university and receiving Christian leadership training. The primary emphasis of the Leadership Development Program ensures that every young person in this program receives a college education, biblically based leadership training and personal discipling to become servant leaders in their world for Jesus Christ. We believe that to transform young adults into confident, Christ like servant leaders, we need to provide them with a holistic program.
